EL CERRITO, CA — The El Cerrito Police Department is investigating 4 vehicle thefts that happened over a four day period, from Oct. 9 to Oct. 12. Two of the vehicles were taken from in front of the the owner's homes during the overnight hours.
Oct. 9
Stolen Vehicle, 10200 San Pablo Ave: At 1308 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen vehicle. Earlier, an unknown suspect used a stolen identification card to secure a test drive of a white 2001 Toyota Highlander. The officer was able to identify the subject as a 19-year-old transient woman.
Stolen Vehicle, 1000 block of Arlington Blvd: At 1703 hours, officers responded to the report of a stolen vehicle. In between 1100 and 1700 hours, an unknown suspect stole a red 1991 Nissan truck.

Oct. 12
Stolen Vehicle – 5500 block of Macdonald Ave: At 0622 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle from in front of their residence during the early morning hours. The officer searched the area and located the car nearby.
Stolen Vehicle – 6600 block of Gatto Ave: At 0801 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle from in front of their residence sometime overnight. The officer searched the area for the victim’s car but did not locate it.
