Arsenal fans to voice concerns about Stan Kroenke takeover with financial losses predicted

With the club gearing up for a sole owner, they will not hold their annual AGM to publicise their accounts, but the Arsenal Supporters' Trust want answers

ARSENAL fans are gearing up for the opportunity to highlight their concerns over the takeover by Stan Kroenke.

The Supporters' Trust plan to write to the club's chairman Sir Chips Keswick to voice their worries about Arsenal's predicted financial losses.

The Premier League side, who currently sit in fourth place, would usually hold an AGM of shareholders this month, but it will not take place this year due to Kroenke becoming the sole owner.

But, according to the Telegraph, fans still want answers about the new accounts- which have not yet been made publicly available.

First on their list of questions is to ascertain why there was no recommendation of the American's offer from the board.

While the second question relates to the Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis's imminent departure.

The Arsenal Supporters' Trust want to know when the club became aware that Gazidis was planning on moving to AC Milan.

And given that they will not be able to voice these concerns at the club's AGM, like they have previously, the AST are penning a letter.

They have also had accountants draw up an estimation about the club's financial position- that they want to question.

As the AST fear that bigger wage bills, coupled with drop in revenues from missing out on the Champions League, will lead to huge financial losses.

The arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sokratis, Lucas Torreira and Bernd Leno have led to the club's wage bill hitting the club's pocket hard- as they lost out on £30million Champions League money.

Once the takeover is complete, Arsenal may well release their accounts and put the AST's mind at ease.

But, they are uncertain as to when that will be and want answers now.

Stan Kroenke will take sole control of Arsenal, after attempting to hold complete ownership for almost ten years.

Once the deal with the north London club is complete, he will be the controlling owner of six sports teams.

The other five are in America; NFL's Los Angeles Rams, NBA's Denver Nuggers, NHL's Colorado Avalanche, MLS Colorado Rapids and National Lacrosse League's Colorado Mammoth.
