MA Weather Forecast: Severe Storms Follow Record Heat

It'll definitely be way too hot. The NWS is also warning of severe thunderstorms Monday.

We all know it's going to be a different kind of warm tomorrow. Temperatures will soar into the 90s with heat indices potentially heading into triple digits. But that's not all you need to worry about.

The National Weather Service said Sunday night they are watching "a few strong to severe storms." The storms could come between the late afternoon and early evening. The NWS said heavy rain and gusty winds are the main threats.

The storms are still uncertain, but the heat is the a guarantee. There is a heat advisory in effect from the Merrimack Valley down to the Boston area. Forecasters are warning of the dangers excessive heat can bring:

"Extreme heat can cause illness and death among at-risk population who cannot stay cool. The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure."
