SPORTS

Head to Regions Field for the Rickwood Classic. You read that right: Wednesday's game has been moved from its usual location at Rickwood Field. The reason? The historic baseball stadium is closed for repairs and won't be open again until 2018. The game will go on, however, with former outfielder Mookie Wilson, a member of the New York Mets Hall of Fame, as a special guest. The Birmingham Barons -- wearing throwback uniforms that celebrate "the Fabulous Fifties" -- take on the Chattanooga Lookouts at 7:05 p.m. This year's game is officially called "Turn Back the Clock Night," reflecting the hiatus at Rickwood Field.

Rickwood Classic, May 31 at 7:05 p.m., Regions Field, 1401 First Ave. South, $10, 205-988-3200. (Updated May 30 to reflect the most current info on time, game name and guest star.)

SPECIAL EVENTS

Browse, shop. Learn, socialize. You can do all of these at Made South, a two-day marketplace that celebrates artisan goods, foods, drinks, music and arts with Southern roots. Nearly 40 makers will be on scene, Friday-Saturday at the Finley Center in Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. You'll find jewelry, candy, salsa, soap, pottery, tea and much more.

Made South, June 2, 5 p.m.- 9 p.m., June 3, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Finley Center, Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, 100 Ben Chapman Drive, Hoover, $15-$29 via Eventbrite. Part of proceeds benefits Make-A-Wish Alabama.

CONCERTS

Remember the Bacon Brothers? Actor Kevin Bacon and his singer-songwriter brother, Michael, played Birmingham in 2000 at Five Points South Music Hall. We haven't seen them since, but the likable folk-rock duo will return here on Tuesday -- 17 years and several albums later -- for a concert at the Lyric Theatre. Our advice: Leave the "six degrees of separation" jokes at home and give 'em a listen. The Bacons will perform in one of the most beautiful venues in Birmingham, after all, and the former vaudeville house has superb acoustics.

The Bacon Brothers, May 30 at 8 p.m., Lyric Theatre, 1800 Third Ave. South, $27.50-$44.50 via Ticketmaster.

FESTIVALS

Settle down at SliceFest. This super-sized block party, now in its sixth year, has become a favorite with folks who relish the combination of specialty pizzas, live music and craft brews. Saturday's lineup features Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Banditos, Manic Focus, Ripe, Early James and more. Arts vendors will be on scene, and there's a cooling station to help revelers beat the heat. It's all happening outside Slice Pizza & Brewhouse in Lakeview, starting at 1 p.m.

SliceFest, June 3 at 1 p.m., outside Slice Pizza & Brewhouse, 725 29th St. South, $30 advance, $35 at gate, free for kids age 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit Suki Foundation, nonprofit that raises awareness of Rett syndrome and funds for research.
