Longtime Norristown Native, Wissahickon Bus Driver, Passes At 70

Ginny Volpe, 70, a longtime Norristown resident and longtime Wissahickon School District bus driver, has passed away.

LANSDALE, PA — Regina 'Ginny' J. Volpe, 70, of Lansdale on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the home of her brother Nick in Eagleville, PA. Born June 7, 1948 in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sabina (D'Achille) and Peter Volpe.

Longtime Norristown resident, she had been living in the Lansdale area and had been a member of Corpus Christi Church. She worked as a courier for over 24 years for Smith Kline/Quest Diagnostics; and was a bus driver for the Wissahickon School District for 15 years. She volunteered at The Lord's Shop, Lansdale for over 15 years.

Survivors include siblings: Nicholas Volpe, Jessie Ann Pascale and Rita M. Gilinger. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her brother Carl Donald Volpe.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 9:30 - 10:45 am at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446 with funeral Mass to follow at 11 am. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Matsonford Rd., W. Conshohocken, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), 5817 Old Leeds Rd., Irondale, AL 35210 or Corpus Christi Church, at the above address.
