'Dying Light: Bad Blood' Will Be Free-To-Play, Comes to PC Early Access In September - Screens

by Rainier on Aug. 20, 2018 @ 6:15 a.m. PDT

Dying Light: Bad Blood is a fast-paced competitive multiplayer title that creatively blends PvP and PvE while retaining the core of Dying Light’s iconic gameplay.

While retaining the core of what made people fall in love with Dying Light in the first place, Bad Blood will offer violent and dynamic online matches that blend PvP and PvE styles of gameplay.

12 go in. 1 comes out.

Get competitive and get blood on your hands in the all-new brutal royale experience.

Join Bad Blood and desperately fight to survive in a city swarming with infested. 12 players enter. Only one can leave. Scavenge for weapons, destroy zombie hives to level up, and combine your advanced parkour mobility with brutal combat skills to outrun, outsmart, and outplay your opponents.

But remember, the clock is ticking.

Immerse yourself in the blood-soaked FPP combat known from the highly-acclaimed Dying Light, now with greater tactical depth, new moves, and tons of vicious weapons. Enjoy a seamless mix of PvE and PvP action as you destroy zombie hives to collect blood samples and level up your character. Prey on other players, steal their loot, and become the only one to leave the zone alive. Whether you run for your life, chase an opponent or race to the evac chopper,  it’s your parkour skills that give you an edge over the enemies.

“We've always been keen to add more PvP multiplayer to Dying Light. We've read all of the messages from players  on social media and forums, and multiplayer has been a hot topic. We've also seen how players have embraced Be the Zombie and that inspired us to expand on multiplayer. But we want to do it in the Dying Light way, where this world swarming with infected is just as much a threat as the other players.” -- says Maciej Łączny, Executive Producer. “This is how Dying Light: Bad Blood came to life, a game based on these key principles: the freedom and fast pace of parkour movement, the constant threat of the Infected, and the creative brutality of melee combat. Combined they offer an all-new brutal royale experience. Now we encourage the community to help us fine-tune the game before its release.”

Players are invited to join us and be part of Dying Light: Bad Blood’s evolution, by playing the game early and giving us their feedback. The game will be constantly improved according to what players tell us.

During the early access phase, Dying Light: Bad Blood will be playable by purchasing the Founder’s Pack, which not only grants access to the game before its final release but also includes in-game content available only to Founders. The $19.99* Founder’s Pack provides in-game currency and exclusive items, including the Founder’s Pass that will deliver 3 Legendary skins throughout the 3 months following the Early Access launch.

During the early access phase the team will work hard not only on balancing the core aspects of the game, with community feedback playing a big role in defining that vision. There will also be free content updates that will include new maps, modes and in-game items as frequent Drops, which fans of the original Dying Light will be familiar with. Dying Light: Bad Blood is intended to be a free-to-play game on PC and consoles and will transition to this model when the early access phase is concluded.

Previously, players were invited to register for the Dying Light: Bad Blood Global Playtest. Today, the development team is ready to share the details of the upcoming tests.

Global Playtest will have two separate phases:

Phase One

Grants a limited number of players who signed up access to the game on August 25th, 09:00AM PDT until August 26th, 09:00PM PDT.

This phase will allow developers to test the infrastructure, matchmaking mechanics and various other crucial parts of the game.

Phase Two

Grants access to the game to all players that have signed up for the Global Playtest. It starts on September 1st, 09:00AM PDT and lasts until September 2nd, 09:00PM PDT.

This phase is meant to validate data gathered during Phase One and generate further feedback on the game, including common issues and bugs before Steam Early Access launch.

Steam keys for both Global Playtest phases will be distributed starting August 22nd. Players will receive an email notice before the given phase instructing them to log into their Techland Account and link it with their Steam Account to receive a Steam key.

Everyone taking part in the Global Playtests will be able to transfer their progress to the Early Access version of the game.

Registration for GPT still open

Players who have yet to sign up for the Global Playtest can still do so at the Dying Light: Bad Blood website, with registration open until August 22th, 01:00PM PDT.
