The Edgar Winter Band and Rick Derringer announce Dubuque show

Rock, blues and jazz artists Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer will bring their top hits to Mississippi Moon Bar on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017.

Edgar Winter is best known for his unique ability to combine rock, blues, jazz and pop sounds in his music. Early in his career, he performed R&B and blues songs with his brother Johnny. Winter went on to form the band White Trash, and released albums “Edgar Winter's White Trash"” and the Gold-selling album, “Roadwork.”

Throughout his career, Winter has recorded more than 20 albums and released multiple chart-topping hits, including “Free Ride,” “Keep Playing That Rock 'n' Roll” and No. 1 hit “Frankenstein.” In addition to his vocal skills, Winter plays the guitar, bass, saxophone, keyboard and drums. In 1965, Rick Derringer began his musical career in the rock group The McCoys, releasing his first No. 1 hit “Hang On Sloopy.”

As a solo artist, Derringer debuted his album “All American Boy” with a new version of his original single “Rock & Roll, Hoochie Koo” that became a Billboard Hot 100 hit. Winter and Derringer have performed together since the 1970s. Their most famous collaboration came when Derringer produced The Edgar Winter Group's double-Platinum album “They Only Come Out at Night,” which reached No. 3 on the U.S. album chart.
