Security guard wounded in shooting at Phoenix motel

A security guard was wounded when gunshots were fired Friday night at a Phoenix motel, police officials said.

Officers responded about 10:30 p.m. to a motel near Black Canyon Highway and Thunderbird Road about a shooting, according to Phoenix Police Department.

An unknown person fired gunshots at two male security guards, police said. One of the guards fired back at the assailants as they drove away. 

One of the security guards suffered a non-life threatening injury and was taken to a hospital.

The shooters remain outstanding, and their description was not available.
