AFL Confidential: Robin Nahas’ unique reason for missing VFL game, Joe Daniher’s strange tattoo
WE’VE all heard of “the dog ate my homework” as an excuse. But “the dog ate me”?
That was the bizarre case for former Tiger and Kangaroo Robin Nahas, who this season has been plying his trade for VFL side Port Melbourne.
But he didn’t play this past weekend and his dog was to blame. And not in the Jordan de Goey way.
Leader reporter Paul Amy revealed on Twitter that Nahas’ dog bit him on the lip the night before the Borough’s clash with Williamstown.
That forced Nahas to head in for plastic surgery and miss the game — which Port Melbourne lost by just three points.
That hurts. Although not as much as the bite probably did.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF JOE DANIHER’S TATTOO
ESSENDON forward Joe Daniher hasn’t done much wrong this year.
The 23-year-old is tied for second in the Coleman Medal race and has even appeared to fix his accuracy issues, having kicked roughly as straight as the rest of the league’s leading goalkickers.
But there are still questions about him. Like what on earth he has on his leg.
An eagle-eyed viewer spotted a simple tattoo on Daniher’s right leg on the weekend — and the experts in the Fox Footy Lab have done the ol’ CSI “enhance!” to see what it says.
And it looks like it says “how are you?”
We’re fine, thanks. Fine but confused.
THIS WILL COST THEM FINALS
THERE is angst in the ranks at Demonland.
And it’s between two of Melbourne’s big men — Max Gawn and Sam Weideman.
Gawn revealed on Twitter on Monday that Weideman had performed an “illegal trade” in their fantasy footy league.
In response, he asked his followers to vote on what he should do.
Egg something of his, for example. Or put the contents of his locker in the shower. Or fill his car up with diesel (we would assume Weideman doesn’t drive a diesel, then).
Or all three. And hey, guess which option Twitter voted for?
As of Monday night, almost 70 per cent of voters had picked “all of the above”.
But the threats didn’t seem to concern Weideman, who gloated about his spot in the finals in response.
We’re joking about this being an issue, obviously. Unless it is an issue in which case we had it first #exclusive #breaking #breaksclusive!!

THE TROLL GETS TROLLED
FORMER Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes has gotten plenty of attention recently as the new media commentator who is willing to give his opinion on everything that moves.
It often makes him pretty brave as he puts himself out there. But we all have to remember that he learned from the best. Well, the best at being a bit of a troll, anyway.
Cornes infamously tweeted that he believed Richmond got ahead of itself — and so when his Power side went down to Melbourne on the weekend, his dad Graham got on Twitter to return serve.
“Hmm a classic case of a team getting ahead of itself,” Graham tweeted.
“Trolled by the old boy!” Kane declared afterwards.
He might need to learn some tricks from the old dog.
WE KNEW THEY HAD TO BE MODELLED OFF OF SOMEONE
LADIES and gentlemen, thanks to Twitter user Annalise Andrews, we present the Human Emoji: Rory Laird.
Although it is unclear whether Laird also modelled for the emojis he used in response.
