Two Waynesboro men were arrested in a traffic stop on Thursday, including one wanted on a long list of charges, including kidnapping and domestic assault.

According to the Waynesboro Police Department, a caller who wished to be anonymous told dispatchers that they had seen 31-year-old Brandon Lamont Carter, who had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor assault and battery, driving in the 900 block of Hopeman Parkway.

Officers carried out a traffic stop on the vehicle he had been seen driving and arrested him at the scene.

In the process of that arrest, officers recognized the man in the passenger seat with Carter as 29-year-old Chiejio Ja’meze Davis, wanted on a long list of charges unrelated to Carter.

Police say Davis had outstanding warrants for two counts of felony domestic assault in Waynesboro, one count of felony domestic assault in Staunton, abduction and kidnapping in Waynesboro, use of a firearm while committing an abduction in Waynesboro, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, brandishing a firearm, and destruction of property.

In the process of the arrest, officers seized a stolen Glock Model 23 pistol with two loaded magazines and a small container of what they believed to be controlled substances.

That brought even more felony charges for Davis, including possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance.

Chiejio Ja’meze Davis is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without the possibility of bond. Brandon Carter is being held on a $2,500 secured bond.
