If history repeats itself, Friday's Sharon-Mutual at Timberlake game should be entertaining.

Both teams may be 2-4 overall and 1-2 in District C-1 play, but past games have been more than entertaining.

Since 2006, the winning team has scored at least 48 points. The lowest scoring game was Timberlake's 48-0 shutout of the Trojans in 2007.

Timberlake helped secure a home playoff berth by outlasting Sharon-Mutual, 50-48 last season. Their offense exploded in four straight wins over the Trojans from 2006-2011 — 70-44 in 2006, 48-0 in 2007, 60-32 in 2010 and 66-44 in 2011.

The Trojans turned the table the next three games with wins over Timberlake, 56-6 in 2012, 60-12 in 2013 and 98-52 in 2016. That was the most points Timberlake has ever allowed.

Sharon-Mutual's Alex Carter has 15 touchdowns this season. Three of the Trojans' four losses have come to 8-man powers Seiling, Tyrone and Pond Creek-Hunter. Sharon-Mutual led the No. 1 Panthers, 16-14 at halftime before giving up 32 unanswered points in the second half.

The Trojans have had trouble stopping people this season, giving up 236 points in six games.

Timberlake has been outscored 213-158 this season, but the Tigers broke a two-game losing streak by beating Balko, 48-28 matching their highest scoring output of the season. J.J. Pippen scored five touchdowns as Timberlake topped the 300-yard rushing mark (313) for the third time this season.

Timberlake leads the series, 9-5 since Helena-Goltry and Jet-Nash combined to form the district in 1993.

Timberlake no doubt is happy to be back home after back-to-back trips to the Panhandle — Boise City and Balko.
