The North Dakota Grain Growers Association is hosting the 25th annual E-Tour Monday, June 25, to Friday, June 29, at locations across west and central North Dakota.
Officials with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will tour several sites across the state as part of the E-Tour, the association said. The tour, which is open to the public, will visit a agricultural businesses and family farms in Minot, Berthold, Stanley, Williston, Epping, Velva, Karlsruhe and Hurdsfield. There will be a presentation on beekeeping and demonstrations of agricultural equipment.
Jeff Mertz, North Dakota Grain Growers Association president, said the association has a good relationship with the EPA. He said some of the biggest benefits of the tour have been EPA officials visit agricultural operations in North Dakota so those officials can see the impacts of their regulations.
“It (the tour) promotes open communication between farmers and the EPA to ensure future regulations are practical,” Mertz said in a press release.
