A full list of upcoming shows follows Brian McCollum's highlights below:

Thursday

Queen + Adam Lambert

Lambert, the 35-year-old Indiana native and 2009 "American Idol" finalist, has the flamboyant theatricality and wide-ranging vocal chops to make a respectable fill-in for the late Freddie Mercury. He'll be flanked by Queen originals Brian May and Roger Taylor for this second round of U.S. touring, following a 2014 run that included a Palace stop. 8 p.m., the Palace of Auburn Hills, I-75 at Exit 81. 248-377-0100. $49.50-$175.

Friday

Vans Warped Tour

Detroit bands I Prevail and the Suicide Machines are among the five dozen-plus bands on seven stages as Warped marks its 23rd year and its sixth on the Palace of Auburn Hills grounds. This year's bill brings a little of everything from the left-field side of the rock spectrum, from vintage political punk (Anti-Flag) and alt-metal (CKY) to ska punk (Save Ferris) and modern post-hardcore (Hawthorne Heights) — complete with the costumed comic-book metal of Gwar. 11 a.m., the Palace of Auburn Hills, I-75 at Exit 81. 248-377-0100. $40.50.

Friday-Sunday

Faster Horses Festival

Dierks Bentley (Friday), Miranda Lambert (Saturday) and Luke Bryan (Sunday) lead the heavy hitters at the fifth edition of Michigan's biggest country festival, as 40,000-plus fans descend onto the grounds of Michigan International Speedway for a party weekend of music and camping. Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn. $199-$599. www.fasterhorsesfestival.com

Saturday

Vince Neil

In his first Detroit visit since Motley Crue's lengthy farewell tour wrapped up in 2015, the singer brings a set made up of Crue classics and a band featuring Slaughter's Dana Strum, Zoltan Chaney and Jeff Blando, a Flint native. Opening this Chene Park show — a rare hard rock date at the riverside venue —  are Great White and Autograph. 8 p.m., Chene Park Amphitheatre, 2600 E. Atwater, Detroit. 313-393-7128. $26 and up.

Sunday

"Legends of Motown"

Otis Williams, Duke Fakir and Henry Fambrough are the lone surviving members of the Temptations, the Four Tops and the Spinners, respectively. The groups will combine forces for a night of sharp-suited musical nostalgia on a bill that also includes Philly soul veterans the Stylistics. 7:30 p.m., Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, 14900 Metropolitan Parkway, Sterling Heights. 586-268-9700. $25.50 -$125.50.

Incubus

Brandon Boyd and company bring their heavy-riffing, hook-minded alt-metal in a show featuring material from the new "8" alongside golden oldies like "Drive" and "Wish You Were Here." Opening is Jimmy Eat World, supporting its recent "Integrity Blues." 6:45 p.m., DTE Energy Music Theatre, I-75 at Exit 89, Clarkston. 248-377-0100. $29.50-$115.

Tuesday

J. Cole

The rapper-singer will present a full workout of his chart-topping December album, "4 Your Eyez Only," in a set featuring hits going back to his debut record. With Anderson.Paak, Bas, J.I.D. and Ari Lennox. 7:30 p.m., the Palace of Auburn Hills, I-75 at Exit 81. 248-377-0100. $29.50-$125.50. (This show was moved from its originally scheduled date on Sunday due to the tour having border-crossing issues.)

Wednesday

Kendrick Lamar

Massive commercial success and artistic greatness don't always go hand-in-hand, but when they do, they can make for larger-than-life cultural figures: Kendrick Lamar is certainly one of them in 2017, with a recent fourth album — "DAMN." — that is the year's best-seller so far while practically guaranteeing him another batch of Grammys come January. The Compton rapper brings his lyrical acuity and expressive showmanship in a relatively restrained production, with Travis Scott and D.R.A.M. in the opening slots. 7:30 p.m., the Palace of Auburn Hills, I-75 at Exit 81. 248-377-0100. $49.50-$129.50.
