Camden's First Friday Monthly Market returns July 1 to downtown Camden

Camden, AR - First Friday Monthly Market in Camden, AR invites you to downtown Camden for "Dog Dayz of Summer: BBQ & Blues" on July 1 in downtown Camden from 6 p.m. to 9 pm

There are a host of vendors this month. Vendors will be selling blacksmith items, crochet, artwork, woodworking, jewelry and clothing.

Information booths and local businesses will keep you informed to all sorts of things from a camper rental to Home Depot home services.

This month will be highlightBBQ with two great food trucks: Mortuary BBQ and Smith Treats BBQ or you can find different varieties of food from small plate vendors located throughout the market. To cool you off stop by Headbangers Creamery with awesome ice cream treats or Sweet Escape Arkansas for shaved ice, bubble tea or bubble lemonade. Native Dog Brewery will have Bills & Dimes Food Truck on their lot for more choices.

July's live music will be "The Experience". This duo will bring the best of Blues as well as other genres of music. Bring your lawn chairs out to enjoy an evening of listening at the corner of Washington and Adams Ave. You can also listen to Christine DeMeo from Hot Springs playing on the patio of Native Dog Brewing.

To celebrate the Dog Dayz they will be having a "Pet Parade". No need to register, just show up at the corner of Washington & Adams for the parade at 7 p.m. The parade along the sidewalk to keep their sweet paws off the hot pavement.

Competitive games are a definite must at this market, so find the Corn Hole Tournament on Adams Ave in front of What's Cookin' and GellyBall located on Washington Street just past the Madison Ave intersection.

Downtown merchants will be open late for all your shopping convenience offering great First Friday specials.

First Friday Monthly Market in Camden, AR will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo on May 6th in downtown Camden from 6 p.m. to 9 pm

Organizers stated that this market reached capacity for vendors 3 weeks early.

Special nonprofit groups and local organizations will be throughout the market to provide entertainment for the young and old alike. Ouachita County Medical Center will have stroke prevention information along with a inflatable brain for everyone to enter and the Camden Fire Department will be giving fire safety tips .

Two featured food trucks will be set up at the event. Camden's newest food truck "Crawfish Haven" will be set up with Cajun cooked crawfish, shrimp, and crab legs.

Also people can celebrate Cinco De Mayor with Bills and Dimes food truck which serves barria tacos and other authentic Mexican food.

Headbangers Creamery will offer ice cream tacos, floats and other ice cream treats

Other food items can be found throughout the market from Navajo tacos on Indian fry bread, street tacos, flavored popcorn, baked goods and Four Points Coffee Cart with macarons.

May's musical guest is listed as the Top Performer in Hot Spring.

Former American Idol contestant, Jacob Flores, is an award-winning, one-man band. His music features live looping and an extremely diverse repertoire of both American and Latin-American styles.

A press release from First Friday states, "With the release of his breakthrough album titled 'Cupid,' Flores is solidifying his position as a stunning icon in the genres of Pop, R&B and Soul."

If you are looking for something a little more competitive, check out the Cornhole Tournament on Adams Ave in front of What's Cookin' and back by popular demand is GellyBall. The GellyBall Arena and shooting range will be set up on Farmer's Bank parking lot.

As always downtown shops and restaurants will be open with specials.
