Coming up: Oktoberfest, Senshi Con and a fall harvest festival for the family

Senshi Con

This three-day cosplaying affair will fill Downtown Anchorage with anime, art, vendors and games and will take up all three floors of the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center. This year will feature special guests Johnny Yong Bosch, the voice of Ichigo Kuraski from "Bleach," Kiba the Cosplay Corgi and Jeannie Tirado from "Dragon Ball FighterZ." Friday opens Senshi Con with Dungeons and Dragons, Super Smash Bros Melee Doubles tournament, followed by a masquerade dance. $35-$100. 3 p.m. Friday- 9 p.m. Sunday, Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center, 600 W. Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest will last for two weekends at the Sitzmark in Girdwood and include live oompah music, souvenir steins, polka and authentic Bavarian delicacies. '4th and D': a documentary about Cyrano's theater

Over the course of 25 years and more than 300 plays, Cyrano's Off-Center Playhouse, along with its associated bookstore and cafe, was a quirky cultural mainstay of downtown. Now, filmmaker Jan Welt has made a documentary to pay homage to the impact this "cultural mini-mall" had on Anchorage's arts scene. Fall harvest festival

Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm Fall Harvest Festival promises hayrides, wagon rides and cattle trains running alongside giant pumpkin zorb balls and pedal tractors. There will be games and contests as well as a petting zoo and mechanical bull. Children can also look forward to face-painting, fair hairdos and mini-golf. Anchorage Welcome Week

More than 20 different organizations will host booths showing how individuals can be involved in their community at this civics fair at the library. Participants will get to speak with representatives from the American Civil Liberties Union, League of Women Voters, the Municipal Ombudsman's Office and more. Comedian Chris Porter

The fall comedy lineup will include comedian Chris Porter with his last night of shows this Friday.
