LINX Introduces New Production Company with a Performance of Swan Lake

WELLESLEY, MA – January 18 – Starting February 4th, young dancers in Wellesley and surrounding towns (2nd – 12th grade) will have the unique opportunity to join LINX Dance Studio’s new Production Company, which boasts a full length performance in June of Swan Lake.

This new challenge is quite different from the end of season recital that most area dance students are accustomed to. Swan Lake will be a full length production, complete with characters, storyline, ins and outs, more stage time, teamwork, and interaction with the entire department. The one hour weekly Saturday class is taught by Stephen Behan and Valerie Maio. Behan and Maio specialize in ballet with years of experience and a talent for working with children of all ages.

Behan trained at School of American Ballet in New York City and American Dance Theater in Herricks, NY. He studied at Ailey School as a fellowship student and graduated from State University of New York (S.U.N.Y.) Purchase College in White Plains, NY with a B.F.A. in dance. He performed with Kazuko Hirabayashi Dance Theater, apprenticed with Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett in Nürnberg, Germany and danced as a member of the second company at Ballet Hispanico “BHdos.”

Maio completed a professional training program with Eglevsky School of Ballet, and went on to dance professionally with several Boston and New England based dance companies. She taught at Boston Ballet and its City Dance Program, directed the ballet program at Tony Williams Dance Center and served as Ballet Mistress for the Urban Nutcracker Youth Cast. She has a B.S in dance from Skidmore College and M.S. in management from Lesley University.

LINX is in its eleventh year of operation providing fun-based classes and camps that specialize in dance, theater, sports and early childhood programming.
