‘Puddles’ joins Virginia Fire Department as station dog

Captain Adam Metsa, bottom right, and members of the Virginia Fire and Ambulance, pose with the fire hall's new "station dog," Puddles. The pooch, created by Metsa, has been calling attention to the importance of fire hydrants. From left, top row: Chief Allen Lewis; Jeff Cielocha, fire engineer/paramedic; Mikell Ruedebusch, EMS coordinator; David McClellan, and Liz Smith, both firefighter/paramedics. Bottom row: Stephanie Smith and Robbie Peterson, the department's new single role EMTs.

VIRGINIA — Members of the Virginia Fire Department always wanted a “station dog.”

Well, now they have one.
