Gastonia — A man accused of stealing a truck from a Gastonia man at gunpoint was arrested Thursday.

Preston Pierre Jackson, 20, of 523 Fairwood Ave. in Charlotte, allegedly used a semi-automatic handgun to steal a Chevrolet Tahoe pickup truck from a house on the 800 block of Circle View in Gastonia on May 22.

The car belonged to Brandon Gladden Sr., according to arrest reports, and Gladden was home with his son and a woman at the time of the crime.

Jackson is charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of second-degree kidnapping for his role in the incident. He is being held at Gaston County Jail without bond.

Jackson was arrested five times in Mecklenburg County last year on charges of breaking or entering a motor vehicle, marijuana possession and injury to personal property.
