Maryland recruiting roundup: Melo Trimble, Dion Wiley and Jared Nickens to play in Kentucky Derby Classic

Visitors for the spring game, a new basketball offer and more.

Basketball:

Maryland commits Melo Trimble, Jared Nickens and Dion Wiley will be playing in the Kentucky Derby Classic Friday night -- all on the Green Team. The game will be live-streamed on WDRB.com and will start at 7 p.m.

Maryland offered three-star Virginia point guard Justin Robinson. He's listed at 6'1" and 170 pounds.

Four-star shooting guard Franklin Howard committed to Syracuse.

Four-star point guard Allonzo Trier picked up an offer from Wake Forest.

Football:

Denzel Conyers committed to the Terps, as a member of the 2014 recruiting class. He's a big JuCo cornerback who should contribute immediately in the secondary.

Kobe Marfo, Justin Skule, Jamie Gordinier and Blake Camper all visited College Park.

New Jersey athlete De'Ron Maxwell received a visit from the Terps.

Maryland offered 2015 Georgia defensive end Larry Jefferson, 2015 Pennsylvania offensive tackle Tony Pilato, five-star 2016 wide receiver Courtney Lark and 2016 Bishop McNamara defensive end Betiku Oluwole.

Four-star defensive lineman (and the top player in the state of Maryland) Adam McLean committed to Penn State.

The following targets visited Penn State (along with McLean): Quarvez Boulware, Nick Johns, Ayron Monroe, Aaron Crawford, Eric Assoua, Grant Newsome, Tony Pilato and Scott Washington.

Matthew Burrell, Justin Skule and Jake Pickard visited Virginia.

Three-star outside linebacker Chad Smith committed to Clemson.

Three-star running back Tristian Houston committed to Texas.

Three-star inside linebacker D'Vonta Hinton committed to Texas Tech.

Offensive tackle Ryan Bischoff committed to Virginia.

Four-star quarterback Kai Locksley picked up an offer from Oregon.
