Linda Cohn Reportedly Sues Hockey Arena After Cutting Arm on Change Machine

ESPN anchor Linda Cohn has reportedly filed a lawsuit against a New York ice hockey arena after a large coin machine fell on her and left a large gash on her arm in March.

According to the New York Daily News' Dareh Gregorian, the suit was filed last month and states that Cohn "continues to endure great pain and suffering" and "continues to be unable to engage in and attend to all daily activities, pursuits and pleasure associated with (her) person and station in life."

Cohn—who regularly hosts ESPN's flagship program, SportsCenter—was at the Brewster Ice Arena to practice for a promotional appearance with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, which was scheduled for the next day.

Cohn was a talented hockey player in college, playing goalie for the SUNY-Oswego women's ice hockey team.

Unfortunately, the change-machine incident rendered her unable to take to the ice the next day, and she is seeking unspecified damages in Manhattan federal court, per Gregorian.

Cohn's Instagram post in March showed off the extent of her injury, which apparently required several stitches.

"It's the kind of a machine that should not be allowed to fall on anyone under any circumstances," said Cohn's lawyer, Jonathan Silver, via Greg Shillinglaw of the Poughkeepsie Journal. "Imagine what would have happened if it fell on a kid. It's bad enough what happened to (Linda)."

The gash does appear to be significant, and it is indeed an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. Hopefully, the matter can be resolved swiftly and without any complications.
