Deputies are investigating two kick-in home invasions which occurred less than 20 minutes apart in Deltona, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.Investigators said the first home invasion happened at a home on Summerfield Street just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.A 25-year-old woman and her two children, ages 1 and 5, were asleep in a bedroom when they heard a loud noise and voices inside the house, deputies said. The woman told deputies she locked the bedroom door, but a short time later a man forced the door open and pointed a gun at her head.Deputies said two men fled the scene with some property and the victim later discovered the culprits had kicked in her door.The second home invasion was reported just 17 minutes later at another house on Gage Avenue, deputies said. The 41-year-old woman at the home told investigators she and her two children were asleep when she was awoken by a loud noise and discovered her door kicked in.
