Alison Brie, Nathan Fillion Lead Cast for The Black List’s Live Reading of ‘The Seekers of Perpetual Love’

Script features upper-class New Yorkers fighting back against a doomsday cult

The Black List announced the full cast list for its next live reading series. Alison Brie and Nathan Fillion will star in a staged reading of “The Seekers of Perpetual Love.”

Brie has had supporting stints in both “Mad Men” and “Community.” Fillion is best known for his starring role in the ABC series “Castle.”

Justin Burtha, Melanie Lynskey, Jean Smart and Dean Cameron also will appear at the Sept. 20 event. Cooper Thornton is set to return as Black List Live’s narrator.

As TheWrap previously reported, “Seekers” is a comedy script about three siblings from a dysfunctional upper-class family who recruit a New Age “deprogrammer” and head out on the road to save their sister, who has been enlisted by a doomsday cult.

Screenwriter Victoria Strouse will direct the 2008 Black List script, formerly known as “The Apostles of Infinite Love.”

The performance will take place Sept. 20 at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets are now on sale.

The Black List Live! Series launched earlier this summer with a reading of “1969: A Space Odyssey,” a screenplay about Stanley Kubrick faking the moon landing. Jared Harris, Kathryn Hahn and Thomas Sadoski all appeared in that live production.
