Most stunning makeover announcement: Princess Leia. At the epic Star Wars celebration in Anaheim, Carrie Fisher told fans that she will not wear those epic hair buns in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. "The buns are tired now. We're probably not going to see the futuristic buns. But we have something else," reported USA TODAY. Or knot.
Biggest food fight: Gwyneth Paltrow versus the Internet. The GOOPager announced that she would attempt to live off a $29 weekly food budget, just like folks on government assistance. Did she succeed? Is her hair blond? Paltrow gave herself a C-. We give her an A for effort. "As I suspected, we only made it through about four days, when I personally broke and had some chicken and fresh vegetables (and in full transparency, half a bag of black licorice)," she wrote in her weekly newsletter.
Best new hope for Sex and the City fans: Sarah Jessica Parker's return to the cable network that made her an indelible part of pop culture. She's coming back with a show called Divorce. Yes, it's about a very long breakup, but we couldn't help but wonder: What about the fashion?!?!
Worst career move ever: Josh Hartnett. Let us repeat ever. He told Playboy that he turned down Christopher Nolan for the Batman franchise that turned Christian Bale into a superstar. Make that an Oscar-winning superstar. "I was so focused on not being pigeonholed and so scared of being considered only one thing as an actor," he said in Playboy. Yes, give him major points for honesty, but this Dark Knight has left the building.
Most random meltdown: Dennis Quaid, screaming and ranting on a movie set in a video that's very NSFW. Jimmy Kimmel said he wasn't behind it. And people wondered: Was it legit and was Quaid pulling a Bale? Not so much. It was a prank for Funny Or Die. Um, ok. Those Jonesing for more Quaid can check him out, in various iterations, on the new season of Inside Amy Schumer.
Cutest family outing: Charlize Theron, her son Jackson, and her boyfriend Sean Penn, who stepped out as a trio for a block party held on the Fox studio lot. He's slurping an icee. Sitting on mom's lap. And it's a rare and very sweet sighting of a child who normally lives way out of the spotlight.
