Ever have that come up on your caller ID. It's PNC bank, or at least the people who collect for PNC bank. My car payment was due December 27, 2009 and they have been calling almost hourly starting 2 days ago. They start at 9:30am and they won't stop till 9:00 pm. You may be wondering how I know it's them, it's because I've talked to them when they've called. That doesn't matter to them though because no matter what deal I make they will call back once or twice before the date that I set with them so I don't answer anymore.
I have fought back financially despite being unemployed. I have my bills caught up for the first time, I'm only 4 days behind and I'm sorry but I deserve a bit more respect than that. It's New Years Eve for crying out loud. Of course I found out the hard way when it comes to PNC bank, how customer friendly they are. When I had first got the car I was laid off for about 3 months. During that time I feel behind 30 days. I had previously opened a checking account with PNC bank because they had a branch across the street from my work, I though that would be convenient for paying my car payments, I didn't realize just how convenient it would be. One evening, at work, I got a call from PNC bank, a young lady informed me that since my check had just been deposited they were going to take my car payment out of my checking account and it didn't matter that I'd just mailed my rent check a few days earlier and that my landlord deposited the check that very day.
I ran across the street, drew out the remainder of my money and the rent check bounced. I told them to cancel my account and they turned me over to collections for the bad check fees. Like the old song goes. "We have only just begun"
Now I don't begrudge PNC bank the money that I have contracted to pay them for my car and like I've said I have struggled to climb out of this hole\, but this just highlights the disrespect Big National banks have for those of us who bailed them out. PNC bank is one of the worst. If you have money there, do yourself a favor and move it to a local bank or credit union, and if your not doing anything call 1-800-642-6323 and let them know what you think of their credit collection tactics. I intend to spread this number as far and wide as I can and I encourage you to do the same. It's the only way "We the People" will ever be heard!
Since starting this diary PNC bank has called back twice. I mailed the check yesterday. I was going to take it down to their bank but decided to make them wait since they seem to be so worried about it. I could answer the phone and tell them that but they'd call back before it got there, I know, they've done it before, but now I'm just letting them call and recording everyone of them. I'll be calling a lawyer and my congressman Monday morning. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous.
