Narayana Murthy recently said there has not been a single invention from India in the last 60 years that became a household name globally. He also added that there was no "earth shaking" invention to "delight global citizens".
Some people didn't agree with Murthy's statement. "Maybe most youngsters in our country are working as slaves in a 9-5 job which leaves them with no energy or creativity to come up with an invention that can change the world.
I am sure somewhere Narayana Murthy is nodding his head in agreement and laughing at the irony of the situation," said an
Infosys employee, on condition of anonymity.
He went on to say, "Perhaps Mr Murthy was too busy to notice, but India have had its share of "earth shaking" invention to "delight global citizens". What else would you call the Indian Premier League (IPL)? The way we packaged cricket and corruption together was exemplary."
Ekta Kapoor found Narayana Murthy's statement completely baseless. She was heard saying, "I think he hasn't been watching my serials. Actors never grow old in my TV soaps and they come back from the claws of death with a brand new face. If that is not inventive enough, then I don't know what is."
An engineering student shared his expert opinion on the subject and said, "We come up with great inventions all the time, but in the wrong domain. How else would you justify Savita
bhabhi? Please don't tell my parents I know about her, otherwise they will surely disown me. Now if you will excuse me, I have to study so that I can get a job at Infosys and work 9-5 for the rest of my life."
