Smashing Pumpkins have released a new single titled “Solara,” marking the first song from founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlain since 2000.

Produced by Rick Rubin at Malibu’s Shangri-La Studios, the tune also features guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who joined the band after Iha’s departure in 2007. Founding bassist D’arcy Wretzky is the only founding member who does not appear on the new track.

Earlier this year, frontman Billy Corgan announced that the group intends to release two EPs in 2018. However, there is no word on whether or not “Solaris” will appear on a forthcoming compilation or if it will remain a standalone single.

Smashing Pumpkins will perform “Solaris” live for the first time when the band appears on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, June 11th. The performance will come one month before the group hits the road for a tour that will focus on tunes from their first five albums. That outing is slated to begin at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, AZ, on July 12th.
