The Port Byron stand-off ended peacefully Friday after the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Officials responded to the home on Fuller Road in Port Byron Friday afternoon.

Major Eric L. Laughton of State Police Troop E said the Wayne County Sheriff's office is handling the situation.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old Joeseph Wilmarth is charged with making a terroristic threat after an investigation into an anonymous complaint regarding Wilmarth's alleged Facebook posts.

Officials said the sheriff's office received information that Wilmarth allegedly posted a comment on Facebook stating he was going to shoot a Wayne County judge.

New York State Police assisted on the scene, and when troopers arrived, they said they were met with Wilmarth who was holding a rifle. Officials said he retreated back into his residence and barricaded himself inside.

After a more than three hour standoff, Wilmarth was taken into custody without incident, according to deputies.

Wilmarth was arraigned in the Town of Lyons court and sent to the Wayne County jail on $10,00 cash or $20,000 bond.

Officials said he is scheduled to appear in court on August 8.
