TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The woman who was killed in an alleged domestic violence homicide early Monday morning has been identified.

Rosalia Gilbert was 46 years old.

Her boyfriend, 52-year-old Christopher Raboin, has been arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail for second-degree murder.

Tucson police officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of East Richards Place, near Tucson Boulevard and Prince Road, around 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 16. There they found Gilbert's body, with obvious signs of trauma.

Courts records state that Raboin showed up to the Gilbert's home on a bicycle to spend the night.

In the early morning hours, according to the documents, the woman's roommate heard Gilbert yell "Chris don't. I love you. Don't do this."

Gilbert also called out her roommate's name for help, according to the statement, so the roommate called police and Raboin allegedly drove away in Gilbert's vehicle.

Tucson police said they caught up with Raboin after a pursuit and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. Raboin is a lawyer, and a big player in the local film community. One his fellow artists said he is not surprised Raboin would end up behind bars.

"He just blew up on me, he cussed me out in front of everyone," said filmmaker Michael Roper.

Roper said he was confronted by Raboin over borrowing a film prop.

"I said I'm done, I'm done working for this guy," Roper said.

According to the website for Independent Film Arizona, Raboin is the president of the nonprofit.

"Very derogatory and manipulative in his words," Roper said. "That's how he would degrade you is be mean to you on set."

Roper said it's been a couple years since he worked with Raboin, and said he feels for the victim's family and friends.
