COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) -- A proposed constitutional amendment in Ohio would help keep puppy mills from being created in the state.
The Ohio Ballot Board certified the proposal Friday, and now it’s up to petitioners to collect more than 350,000 signatures, or about 10 percent of the total votes cast for governor in 2014.
The amendment would require those who breed dogs to follow certain rules that include providing nutritious food twice a day, adequate shelter and enough space to roam around.
