Original Story
The Pensacola Christmas Parade will go on rain or shine according to Chairman Lew Schuchardt.
He says they are still expecting 20 to 30 thousand people, but if the weather was good it would be about 50 thousand.
He says there’s 124 floats, bands, walkers and business. He says a few of those have already dropped out because of the weather. He says 5,000 people will be in the parade.
He says the last time they canceled the parade because of weather was 2004. You can watch the parade at WKRG at 5:30 and on WKRG.com
Some Pensacola residents say they would not miss the parade for anything.
“Well it’s only once a year and the children absolutely love it and they are just so happy and lit up to see the parade,” Martha Williams said.
“I have an eight year old who says we’re coming,” Collier Merril said. “We’re coming rain or shine and it’s just a great event in downtown Pensacola. One of the many that happens all the time.”
There will be a jingle bell run that starts at 5. The parade starts at 5:30
