Johnson wins Sentry Tournament of Champions

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - With his win on Maui, the world's top-ranked golfer, Dustin Johnson joined the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Lee Trevino, and Tiger Woods on Sunday. DJ's win at the Sentry Tournament of Champions extended his number of consecutive seasons with a PGA Tour title to 11, earning him a spot among that esteemed group of golfers.

He headed into the final day of competition in the top spot, two shots ahead of Brian Harman, and four ahead of Jon Rahm after 54 holes.

After putting up a 7-under-66 on day three, Johnson did one better to end the tournament. DJ separated himself even further from the rest of the pack in Sunday's final round with an 8-under-65 to end the Sentry Tournament of Champions eight strokes ahead of his nearest competitor, Jon Rahm.

Johnson followed his one misstep on day four, a bogey on a par three at the 11th hole of the Plantation Course in Kapalua, with an eagle on hole 12. He followed that, with three birdies in his next four holes on the back nine.

Nearly ten shots back of DJ, finished Rahm in the second spot on the leader board, while Harman fell to the three spot (72). Hideki Matsuyama (66), Pat Perez (69), and Rickie Fowler (70) all finished T4.
