GREENSBORO (March 21, 2018) – North Carolina A&T's Fabiana Ramirez (5-foot-4, JR,  Nueva Bolivia, Venezuela) went a combined 4-0 last week and was rewarded for her effort by being named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women's tennis player of the week for the week of March 19-25. 

Two of Ramirez's wins came against a player from two-time defending MEAC champion S.C. State. She defeated Anjela Mihajlovic at No. 1 singles position 6-3, 6-4. In doubles, she teamed with senior Khalia Powell to defeat Mihajlovic and Sredojevic of SCSU in No. 1 doubles, 6-3.

Ramirez's other two wins came against a player from non-conference foe Longwood. Ramirez defeated Yulia Almiron 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. She again teamed with Powell to down Marija Venta and Julia Candiotto 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. 

Ramirez has three wins at No. 1 singles this season including winning her last two matches. Ramirez and Powell are the most successful doubles pair for the Aggies this season as they improved to 3-2 together after last week's results. The duo has won three straight. 

This is the second weekly honor of the season for the women's tennis team after Nadia Hilton Adams won the honor on Jan. 31, 2018. It is Ramirez's second-career selection after being named player of the week on Jan. 26, 2017.
