Plini Releases New Single “Salt + Charcoal”

0

I know I’m way late to be boarding the Plini train, but man! I’ll chalk it up to being jaded: a decade after the instrumental metal scene started blowing up I’ve just become numb to the whole thing and I’ve unfairly written off a whole lot of new acts without giving them a proper chance. But there’s a reason that Plini has garnered so much attention in such a short amount of time, and that reason is because he’s uniquely talented and an absolutely exceptional player and writer.

Following his 2016 debut full-length Handmade Cities, Plini returns today with a brand new single called “Salt + Charcoal.” It’s progressive, jazzy, melodic and emotionally uplifting, generally all the things we hope and expect new Plini music to be. Backing vocals from Skyharbor’s Devesh Dayal add a new dimension that gives the track extra depth and texture. I like it a whole lot.

Check out “Salt + Charcoal” below and download it here; no word on whether it’s from a new album yet, but presumably an announcement regarding one (if it exists) is right around the corner.

Plini will be touring with TesseracT and Astronoid in the States this April; get dates here, and be sure to arrive early!
