Wydr to host its first Indian wholesale fashion & lifestyle e-fair in September

    Synopsis

The e-fair, from September 12 to September 14, will enable the manufacturers and wholesalers to showcase their product portfolio and interact live with retailers.

KOLKATA: Mobile-based wholesale marketplace Wydr.in on Monday said it plans to host its first India wholesale e-fair dedicated solely for wholesalers and retailers of fashion and lifestyle products across the country.
The e-fair, from September 12 to September 14, will enable the manufacturers and wholesalers to showcase their product portfolio, interact live with retailers and bulk buyers and fix deals instantly, the company's media statement stated.

Wydr’s e-fair has been conceptualised as a platform for buyers to participate in the exhibition virtually, eliminating the need for travel. Wholesalers and retailers from non-metro cities find it difficult and a costly affair to attend the fashion and lifestyle exhibitions being held in metros. It also becomes a costly affair for them. Such e-fairs gives participating wholesalers and retailers an opportunity to share videos on their business, products as well as business history much in the same way they would do in an exhibition without spending money on travel, explained a company official.

Commenting on the e-fair, Wydr.in founder & CEO Devesh Rai said: “The e-fair enables discovery of new business relationships resulting in not just one off purchases but ongoing business thereafter as was demonstrated at the first e-fair hosted by Wydr in March this year. With the festive and wedding seasons round the corner, this is the ideal time to launch our dedicated fashion and lifestyle e-fair on the Wydr platform."

Over 100 leading manufacturers from across the country have expressed interest in participating in the e-fair. The firm expects to reach 10 lakh independent retailers this time. Over 3500 wholesalers and retailers from the fashion and lifestyle space participated in Wydr’s March e-fair and conducted over 5000 transactions aggregating to Rs 10 crore plus.

Manufacturers and retailers can use WydrChat, a live chat facility that allows real time communication for negotiation and deal closure. Retailers in every corner of India will be able to see the latest fashions and designs unveiled for the festive season. The virtual e-fair help desk will support visitors in navigation through the app and find the right sellers for their particular requirements.

Devesh further added, “Wydr’s aim is to give the local wholesalers and manufacturers a national exposure. This e-fair will help them reach out to the retailers across the country, strike lucrative deals and develop long term business relationships.”

Currently, India’s wholesale trade market is a complex network of millions of wholesalers and independent retailers comprising regional and local micro-networks. The reach is severely limited by geography. In such a scenario, events like 'India Wholesale E-Fair' provide a much needed virtual platform for all parties to engage 'live' with each other irrespective of which part of the country they are based out of.
