Hear Currents Fall Back into Destructive Habits on Epic New Song "Into Despair"

Vocalist Brian Wille: "We've all experienced the shame of being back in a place we thought we left a long time ago"

Fresh off the 2017 release of their full-length offering The Place I Feel Safest, Connecticut metal band Currents are gearing up to drop a brand-new EP, I Let the Devil In, December 14th via SharpTone Records. The five-song/10-track record — produced by Ryan Leitru of the band For Today — features songs that were three years in the making, including the lead single, "Into Despair," premiering above. Dense and sinuous, the song nods to black metal, post-rock and djent along its winding path, while it's accompanying video sees Currents throwing down hard amid shadows and shards of light.

""Into Despair' is about the moment you fall back into old, destructive habits," vocalist Brian Wille explains of the cut. "We've all experienced the shame of being back in a place we thought we left a long time ago, and we wanted to really capture that feeling and put it into a song. This is the first time I've ever felt like I said exactly what I needed to say, and so I'm proud to present 'Into Despair' to all of you."
