JAMMU, Apr 21: Maintaining that Government policies and security forces can’t alone prove a deterrent against terror, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today called for a united fight against terrorism and divisive forces.
Addressing a homage giving ceremony (Shradhanjali Sabha) in honour of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO, RSS national leader and Seh Sarkarivah , Suresh Soni said Government alone can’t fight terror but the society has to unite and put a challenge to such forces.

Making it clear that terrorism has to face an end soon as the resolve of the nationalist forces has been further strengthened with the supreme sacrifices of Chanderkant Sharma, he said it was the firm resolve of people alone which rooted out terrorism from Tripura and Assam.
Recalling the sacrifices of RSS volunteers for national unity and integrity in different parts of country, RSS leader said four Pracharaks of Sangh were killed in Assam in four years but Sangh did not gave in and many Pracharaks from rest of country voluntarily offered their services in the State to imbibe the spirit of nationalism among the people there.
This turned into a sea change and locals came forward to serve as Pracharaks to fight against the terror and entire society supported them, he added.
Exuding confidence that terrorism will also be uprooted in J&K, he termed the Kishtwar and Doda a land of warriors who stood a rock against divisive forces and did not hesitate in laying down their lives to protect the unity and integrity of country and frustrate the designs of anti national forces to empty Kishtwar of Hindus after the Kashmir Valley.
Soni said instead of leaving their motherland the nationalist forces prefer to lay down their lives in the soil of their birth place which ultimately gives a blow to the anti national forces.
He said Chanderkant’s sacrifice will inspire the nationalist forces and soon the terrorism will be uprooted in the State.
Comparing Chanderkant with great freedom fighters Vir Savarkar, Suresh Soni said the martyr was an incarnation of Vir Savarkar in Kishtwar. He said the martyr will reborn on the land of Kishtwar to complete his unfinished task.
He said RSS was an eyesore for terrorists and separatists in Kishtwar after ethnic cleansing of Hindu minorities from Valley and they tried to close Shakhas in Kishtwar but with the determination of the Sangh they failed in their designs.
To close the Shakhas the terrorists fired upon one of the RSS activist but they did not give in.
In a letter from Hospital bed the injured RSS activist wrote to then senior BJP leader Kedarnath Sawhni that “they (terrorists) want us to flee from Kishtwar but we will fight till last breath”, while quoting the letter.
Soni said this spirit will continue. “To have a free and peaceful life such sacrifices are inspirational”, he added.
He said the days are not far away when total peace will prevail and truth and Dharma will triumph.
He however said the Samaj has to awake and for that a “Janjagran” is needed, adding that sacrifices of martyrs will continue to inspire us till terrorism is weeded out completely.
RSS senior leader, Arun Kumar while paying homage said, Sangh activists will continue the fight against terror till last terrorist is finished. The RSS activists are ready to give sacrifices to protect national unity and integrity as they have dedicated their lives for service of nation.
Brig (retd) Suchet Singh, RSS Sangchalak termed the security lapses also a cause for attack on RSS leader and Parihar brothers.
He demanded strengthening of VDCs in the area.
RSS leaders Ramesh Pappa, Suresh Ji, Prant Pracharak, Purshotam Didichi, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, Speaker, Dr Nirmal Singh, former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, BJP president, Ravinder Raina, former Minister, Priya Sethi, Dr Narindera Singh BJP general secretary and Dr Gautam Mengi were among hundreds who paid tributes to RSS leader.
