A University of Tennessee Martin dancer was found stabbed to death on Sunday.

Deputies found the body of Decora Alexander, 20, of South Fulton in a home along Joe Fry Lane.

According to the Obion County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the home at about 6:30 p.m. when family members where trying to force their way into the home of Tony Markee Mosley, 29.

Deputies said they discovered Mosley had come to the door at one point and was covered in blood. Mosley retreated back into the home. As officers tried to breach the home, they said Mosley opened the door and collapsed from stab wounds and lacerations to his body.

While inside, officers said they found the body of Alexander, who was a student at UT Martin majoring in health and human performance and dancer for the Skyhawks basketball team. She graduated from Union City High School in Union City, Tenn.

“Although Decora was young, she had a strong positive influence on all of her teammates,” Skyhawk head dance coach Jessi Woody said. “She was always working to be a better dancer and wanted to see her teammates grow and succeed with her. She will be greatly missed both on and off the court.”

Mosley was transported to the hospital where he's in critical but stable condition.

Alexander's death remains under investigation by the Obion County Sheriff's Office and Union City Police Department. A GoFundMe has been launched for funeral expenses at the following link.
