The renewable energy arm of Greek utility PPC SA (ATH:PPC) has finalised the concession and construction tender for the first 15-MW solar park in Kozani, northwestern Greece, local newspaper Kathimerini reports.

Construction of the project is expected to start in July. Four companies bid for the job, budgeted at about EUR 10 million (USD 10.9m). Sources cited by the newspaper said the winner is likely to be Metka, the business unit of the Greek company Mytilineos SA.

In the tender for the second 15-MW solar farm contract, worth EUR 15 million, the preferred bidder is likely to be Terna SA, the construction company of GEK TERNA Group.

The two projects are part of a big complex with a capacity of 230 MW in Kozani. Bids for the remaining 200-MW solar project, touted as the biggest solar farm in Greece, are expected by May 28.
