Priyanka Chopra has said she is ‘super excited’ for her close friend Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry.

The actress said the royal wedding will be ‘life-changing’ for Meghan and Harry, but added that she would not be involved in the big day herself.

Confirming that she is ‘not a bridesmaid’, she told PEOPLE: ‘I’m super excited about her and her big day. It’s not just going to be life-changing for both of them, it’s life-changing for the world that needs to see strong women as icons, and I think Meghan has the potential to be that.’

Actress Chopra also described Meghan as ‘a girl’s girl’.

‘She’s a really relatable young woman who is concerned about the world just like you and I are,’ she added.

‘That’s what I love most about her. I feel like her authenticity is what’s going to make her really stand out in this new life she’s going to take on.’

Meghan has described Priyanka as ‘a really good friend’.

Speaking to Press Trust of India in the past, she said: ‘Elle Magazine in the US hosted a dinner celebrating Women in TV, and we met that night — turns out that she really likes Suits.

‘And you know when you meet someone and you just click… It was just an easy, natural progression.’

Meghan’s final scenes in TV show Suits aired this week, less than a month before she is due to walk down the aisle.

Her character Rachel Zane prepared to marry Mike Ross in the two-hour long season 7 finale.

If you don’t want to find out how the episode ended, look away now…

Rachel and Mike’s ceremony was last minute and low-key as the couple jumped at the chance to move to Seattle to run a law firm. It only left them with days to pack up and ship out of New York, and it would be hard for them to go back to NYC for their wedding six weeks later.

In a spontaneous and convenient decision, they decided to move the big day forward so their friends and families could all be there.

Rachel’s simple yet elegant dress was the same one she would have worn to her wedding to Mike in season 5.

In the episode, Rachel tells Mike: ‘You’re the husband I’ve always wanted and I can’t wait to begin our adventure together.’

The episode also saw the exit of Patrick J Adams, who plays Mike.

Adams previously said he knew Rachel and Mike would get their happy ending.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘A lot of times when actors leave shows, a gun gets pulled out in a courtroom or something. Without spoiling too much, yes, I think Mike and Rachel are two characters that there has never been any question that they’re in love and that they’re meant for each other and that they’re willing to go to great lengths and sacrifice a ton in order to keep their relationship going.

‘It just so happens that the timing of how I was feeling [about leaving Suits] and what was going on in Meghan’s life created an opportunity where there was no need to force some conflict or tear Mike and Rachel apart. It allowed us to go on to whatever happens next for Mike and Rachel together.’

On leaving her acting career behind for a life as a princess, Meghan told the BBC in November: ‘I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter.’

Despite the exit of two of its leads, Suits has been renewed for an eighth season.
