To honor the memory of WWII hero and Wacoan, Doris Miller, Train Waco will be hosting a workout on Saturday, Dec. 8.

CrossFit is known for honoring fallen combat veterans and first responders in what are known as “Hero” workouts. The hero workout stems from a person who is admired for great or brave acts. Moreover, the workouts are intended to be performed with best effort of an individual in honor of sacrifice for those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

TrainWaco coach and event coordinator Jared Gould said, “We hope the workout, which is free for the community to participate in, will increase awareness of the need for support of the memorial honoring the heroic acts by a Wacoan on Dec. 7, 1941, during the attack on Pearl Harbor.”

The CrossFit workout is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and is open to the community at 713 Elm Avenue Waco, Texas 76704.
