Apink Namjoo’s new look stirs plastic surgery talks

K-pop girl group Apink member Namjoo became the No. 1 trending topic in Korea after she looked different while attending an event that sparked talks that she underwent plastic surgery.

Namjoo, who turned 22 on 15 April, got a rude birthday present when netizens commented that she had work done on her face especially her nose when compared to her past photos.

Apink went to the opening ceremony of the 2018 African Development Bank annual meeting and Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference as public relations ambassadors.

Namjoo’s new look surprised people but Apink’s agency refused to comment on whether she had plastic surgery.

‘Looks like she got her nose done but it came out bad. That type of nose isn’t current with the trends,’ one netizen commented, according to Netizen Buzz.

Another said she got work done on her ‘inner eye corners and nose’ while a netizen wrote, ‘Eh???? I had to search her name up to confirm that it was the same person;;; I don’t think it’s just the nose here, she’s changed too much for just that…????’

‘It’s not ‘rumors’ at this point, it’s plastic surgery… I think people have been searching up what happened over the shock of how different she looks. I haven’t seen any comments that would be considered hate. And it’s not like she committed a wrong so no one was hating on her either. Everyone just feels upset for the most part,’ a netizen pointed out.

Other comments read “It’s like they got a new member… I found her old face charming … what a shame” and ‘Why, why did you do that? No matter how much work you get done, you won’t be like Son Naeun… now she looks weirder.’

Plastic surgery is a popular procedure in South Korea and many celebrities have been suspected of undergoing the knife to change their looks.
