As quickly as the talks with the Yankees broke down, the Seattle Mariners have dealt left-hander Cliff Lee to the Texas Rangers.
According to a story on MLB.com, the Rangers have acquired Lee for a package of four players, the centerpiece of which is first baseman Justin Smoak.
Minor league pitcher Blake Beavan heads a trio of minor leaguers also headed from Texas to Seattle.
The Rangers have scheduled a 6 p.m. EST news conference, at which time they are expected to announce the deal.
