Emergency workers say heavy-duty equipment is needed
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a driver has died after a wreck on the northbound side of Interstate 85 near mile marker 11.
According to emergency workers, the accident left the driver entrapped and required special equipment.
The wreck happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. Sunday near Townsville.
The Fork Rescue Squad responded with a truck to retrieve the vehicle.
Drivers reported foggy conditions in the area at the time of the accident.
According to emergency workers, they wanted to airlift a victim from the scene, but conditions were too foggy to fly.
State troopers said the driver died from his injuries around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
