Fans of Suzanne Collins best-selling post apocalyptic novel can now put their bickering to rest.

After fake posts, numerous articles and web tabloid dramas, Robert Pattinson has spoken up about playing Finnick Odair in "Catching Fire". Pattinson won't be in "The Hunger Games" sequel, nor would he be in "The Hunger Games" films at all.

"The Hunger Games" hype is still on an all time high that even the smallest details of casting for "Catching Fire" has got fans in frenzy. Rumors have been circulating around for the past few months about a certain "Twilight" star landing the lead role in the sequel, "Catching Fire". While "Twilight" fans are certainly elated about it, "Hunger Games" fans have been protesting against Robert Pattinson who has been said to play Finnick Odair.

Finnick Odair has been described as incredibly handsome blonde tribute from District 4. Having been the youngest to win the "Hunger Games," Finnick plays out the role as a "sex" slave for the Capitol. Surely Robert Pattinson who had quite the same role in "Bel Ami" would have no qualms to play the dashing tribute. However, Pattinson might not be playing Odair after all.

"I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. My agent was like, 'No...no one's going to offer you that part,'" shared Pattinson in an interview with USA Today.

"I was like, 'Thanks for the reassurance,'" continued Robert.

So Pattinson won't be playing Finnick Odair after all but that doesn't necessarily mark the end of his film career. Pattinson's post-"Twilight" film career continues to boom and in fact he's got not only one but two films out in the open namely "Bel Ami" and "Cosmopolis". Robert is also up for another film with bombshell, Scarlett Johansson, in "Hate Mail".

As for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", Robert is better off "catching" another role in a film not close to "Twilight's'" film archenemy. For now, fans of the "Hunger Games" can sleep easy knowing the sparkly vampire of the Cullen clan won't be playing the handsome tribute from District 4.
