Slaters Nissan and Citroen dealerships go into administration

Slaters of Abergele Limited, Slaters of Ruthin Limited, and Slaters North Wales Car Centre Limited have fallen into administration. The three companies operated from two sites in Abergele and Mochdre. The Abergele site sold new and used Nissan and Citroen vehicles while Mochdre was used for servicing and repair.

According to administrators KPMG, in recent months the group had experienced severe cash flow pressure driven by continued trading losses. This was further compounded by restrictions on used car finance. The fall in trade resulted in facility limits being reached and missed payments to company creditors.

KPMG will commence a wind down of the business, which has so far seen 68 of 74 staff members made redundant. Remaining staff will be retained in the short term to assist with closure of the sites. Customers with outstanding orders are advised to contact slaters@kpmg.co.uk.

It should be noted that Slaters North Wales Limited, which operates from sites in Colwyn Bay, Caernarfon and Anglesey, is not in administration and will continue to trade as usual.
