UPDATE: On Thursday afternoon, Kenny Coleman, a federal prison spokesperson for the Lexington, Ky., facility, told E! News that Apollo Nida had checked in.

After E! News received confirmation that Nida was in custody, Steve Honig, a spokesperson for Nida's wife Phaedra Parks, told E! News in a statement, "There was an incident at Phaedra's house yesterday involving Apollo, however we're not getting into any details beyond that."

Apollo Nida, the husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, posted a video to Instagram early Thursday morning he had "finally arrived at the penitentiary" and was "about to go asunder."

E! News has yet to confirm if Nida has actually checked himself in to prison to begin an eight-year sentence which was issued in July following his guilty plea to bank fraud back in May.

In Nida's video, he thanked fans "for the support and prayer," adding, "Stay tuned and you'll hear from me shortly."

Steve Honig, a spokesman for Nida's wife, told E! News in a statement, "Phaedra is now putting all of her energy into ensuring the well-being of her two children and making decisions that are in their best interests."

Parks has two sons with Nida: Dylan, 3, and Ayden, 1. "This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra and her family," her spokesman added, "and she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone's lives."

Meanwhile, a source claimed to E! News that Nida "has been out partying every single night" prior to turning himself into prison, but he "has not directly discussed his plans for turning himself in with Phaedra."

"She's in the dark and it's been tough on her and the kids," added the source, who claimed Nida has "made things very uncomfortable."

"When he does speak to Phaedra, it's always about money," the source said. "He owes a huge debt in restitution and he wants to know if she's going to help him with it. 'Are you going to give me money?' is always his question. He still wants her financial support."

E! News reached out to Nida's lawyer for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
