CarLeans preview new album Friday at Steak Loft

What's that left in the bottom of your Christmas stocking? How did you miss it?

Why, it's a postcard advising that, as soon as February, The CarLeans are going to release a new album called "Forgotten Pages." This is big stuff because the Anericana trio is, frankly, world-class — musically, vocally and songwriting-wise.

Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Jim Carpenter, vocalist/guitarist Sarah MacLean and bassist/vocalist Corina Malbaurn, the CarLeans simply have the music and magnetism to be national stars. Period. Or make that exclamation point.

You can see them Friday at the Steak Loft. Expect to hear samples from "Forgotten Pages" as well as material from their first and wonderful album, "Drowning Moon."

The CarLeans, 7 p.m. Friday, the Steak Loft, 27 Coogan Blvd., Mystic; free; (860) 536-2661.
