Deacon Leonard Buresh, 86, Fargo, died, Thursday August, 23, 2018 in his home.

Leonard W. Buresh was born, May 25, 1932 to Louis and Agnes (Jirges) Buresh in New Hradec, ND. Leonard received his education at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in New Hradec, ND. He attended high school for 2 years in Lilse, IL, and completed high school in Dickinson, ND. Leonard entered the military service in 1951. After his basic training in Fort Smith, AR, he was stationed in Fort Ord, OK, Fort Carson, CO, Fort Hood, TX, and The Aleution Islands, AK, during the Korean War. Leonard was united in marriage to Anna Marie Schmidt on December 27, 1951.

Leonard was employed by F.W. Woolworth then at the S&L store in Dickinson. The family moved to Bemidji, Harvey, Hutchinson, Grafton, and Fargo.

Leonard became permanent Deacon in the Fargo diocese in 1993, and served at the Sunset Home, Development Center, as an RCIA instructor and started the jail ministry in Grafton, ND. Most recently Leonard served at Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo, retiring in 2014.

Leonard is survived by his wife; Anna Marie, children, Robert (Deb) Thief River Falls, MN, Ronald (Diane), Tucson, AZ; Teresa (Bob) Jercinovic, Florrisent, MO; Sharon (Marty - deceased) Shulte, Norfolk, VA; Thomas, Hutchinson, MN; Alice Fisher, Thief River Falls, MN; Mark (Lori) Wylie, TX; sisters, Veronica Quintus and Sr. Emma Buresh; brother, David (Jeri); 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Agnes; brother, Fr. Vitus, sister, Bernice Wilhelm; brother-in-law, Norbert Quintus, nephew, Gary Quintus.

Visitation will be from 12-2:00 PM with a Mass of Christian burial at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
