NAPERVILLE, IL -- Naperville police arrested three people for driving under the influence and cited 22 drivers for speeding during a recent traffic crackdown on St. Patrick's Day weekend. The push was part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket initiatives.

Naperville Police Sergeant Derek Zook stressed that traffic laws are strictly enforced to help save lives. Zook said in a press release, "Because of the efforts by our community leaders to spread the word about alcohol and drug impaired driving, the streets were safer during the St. Patrick's Day holiday."

The holiday's heightened police patrols included efforts by other local law enforcement agencies and the Illinois State Police and was funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
