Title: Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children #2)
Author: Ransom Riggs
Publication Date: 2014 January 14
Series: Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children

Why I’m Excited:

The eerie, mysterious world that Ransom Riggs created in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children felt like like a stand-alone novel, even with that ending. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there would be a sequel; I look forward to learning more about the peculiar children and the time loops in this second book. -Mandy C.

Title: Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #3)
Author: Laini Taylor
Publication Date: 2014 April 08
Series: Daughter of Smoke & Bone

Why I’m Excited:

I don’t know if “most anticipated” is correct here. More like dreading the most because, omg what is going to happen, I’m so scared. The last third of Daughter of Smoke & Bone let readers know this wasn’t going to be your straightforward fantasy romance. And Days of Blood & Starlight confirmed the intensity of this series. So I’m both extremely excited to get to read the conclusion and sad this trilogy is coming to an end. -Megan

Title: The Lovely and the Lost (The Dispossessed #2)
Author: Page Morgan
Publication Date: 2014 May 13
Series: The Dispossessed

Why I’m Excited:

Although The Beautiful and the Cursed is one of many (many) paranormal YA romances that have come out recently, the book stood out to me as one of my favorites of 2013. I am so excited to delve back into the Waverly siblings’ world of demons and other unusual paranormal creatures. Plus, I need to see some resolution to those TWO love triangles! -Mandy C.

Title: Ruin and Rising (Shadow and Bone #3)
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Publication Date: 2014 June 03
Series: Shadow and Bone

Why I’m Excited:

Another of my top picks of 2013, the second book in the Shadow and Bone series, Siege and Storm, held no punches, which is a welcome thing in the world of mediocre second (bridge) books. Leigh Bardugo certainly knows how to suck readers in, and I’m thinking the conclusion to the series will not disappoint. -Mandy C.

An illuminated subway tunnel surrounded by darkness.

Title: Lair of Dreams (The Diviners #2)
Author: Libba Bray
Publication Date: 2014 August 05 2015 April 14
Series: The Diviners

Why I’m Excited:

Although I wasn’t sure I’d like The Diviners at first—I found the language/lingo really hard to read—I soon got into the story and the frightening underlying plot. Upon first thought, I didn’t think a sequel was entirely necessary, but I’m certainly not going to say no to another suspenseful story starring Evie and friends. -Mandy C.

Title: Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss #3)
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Publication Date: 2014 August 14
Series: Anna and the French Kiss

Why I’m Excited:

OMG OMG ISLA IS ALMOST HERE. (And Cricket Bell is coming back to me, EEEEEE.) Stephanie Perkins quickly ascended to my “Must Read Anything They Write” list, so obvs I’d be all over the long-awaited Isla. -Mandy W.

Title: Sisters’ Fate (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #3)
Author: Jessica Spotswood
Publication Date: 2014 August 14
Series: The Cahill Witch Chronicles

Why I’m Excited:

The cliffhanger conclusion to the second book in The Cahill Witch ChroniclesStar Cursed, was one of THE WORST things an author could do to a reader. I have to find out how it gets resolved, like now. Waiting until August is going to be torture. -Mandy C.

Title: The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave #2)
Author: Rick Yancey
Publication Date: 2014 September 16
Series: The 5th Wave

Why I’m Excited:

The 5th Wave was one of my favorite books of 2013, and while it didn’t necessarily have a cliffhanger ending, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. Especially after [spoiler redacted] and [spoiler redacted]. I have no idea what Cassie’s gonna do next, but I’m pretty damn sure that it won’t be good for my heart rate. -Sarah

Title: The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus #5)
Author: Rick Riordan
Publication Date: 2014 October 07
Series: The Heroes of Olympus

Why I’m Excited:

THE END IS NIGH, Y’ALL. My beloved Heroes of Olympus series (and possibly the entire Camp Half-Blood universe) is almost over, NOOOOOOO. DON’T ANYONE TALK TO ME ON OCTOBER 7TH, KTHX. Never have I related so well with Jessie Spano. -Mandy W.

Title: This Shattered World (Starbound #2)
Authors: Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
Publication Date: 2014
Series: Starbound

Why I’m Excited:

I had planned on reading the sequel anyway, but finding out that this intragalatic sci-fi series is made up of companion novels (‘cause I forget so many things, y’all) pushed the next book to the top of my want list. -Mandy W.

Title: Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle #3)
Author: Maggie Stiefvater
Publication Date: 2014
Series: The Raven Cycle

Why I’m Excited:

It doesn’t have a cover– hell, it doesn’t even have a title, but the next Raven Cycle book better be coming out in 2014 or MY BRAIN WILL MELT OUT OF SHEER ANTICIPATION. Plus, what can I say, I miss hanging out with Gansey, Blue and the gang. (Except for you, Adam!) -Sarah

Title: The Seeker (The Host #2)
Author: Stephenie Meyer
Publication Date: 2014 ????
Series: The Host

Why I’m Excited:

I’m a tad embarrassed to be including this book on our list, because, well, it’s by Stephenie Meyer, but I thought The Host was an awesome read. I love the unique world Meyer created, and I’m intrigued to see what happens/happened with Melanie and Wanda. -Mandy C.
